Watch ‘Spider-Man’ totally screw up

And behold the absolute worst Quicktime Event in the history of all video games. But at least it’s hilarious.

For whatever reason, the following Spider-Man clip has been making the rounds on Twitter the past week or so. Guess it’s a natural by product of people who are sick of hearing about the hurricane and the Presidential race. And because I often take for granted that everyone has seen everything (it’s definitely an oldie, but goodie)…

Most people should be familiar with Quicktime Events by now, but for those who are not, it’s more or less an avenue for lazy game designers to convey an action that they can’t figure a way to illustrate in an interactive fashion. When used sparingly, they’re okay, but for the most part, they’re really not.

But here’s a great example of a good one, from the ending of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

By the way, is there to make a mistake here as well? You bet…
