The next ‘Prince of Persia’ game might take place in Egypt

Be sure to check out this leaked production video of Osiris, the rumored Prince of Persia reboot by the people responsible for Assassin’s Creed (while you still can).

So yesterday, IGN reported that Ubisoft was hitting the pause button, as far as the Prince of Persia franchise is concerned. The reason? They realize that it needs some revitalization and time to experiment. Fair enough.

Then last night, conveniently enough, the following video showed up. Of something work in progress called Osiris

Many believe that the above, which is a new Egyptian-themed IP that the Assassin’s Creed team is working on, which has been rumored since E3 2012, is actually the upcoming new face of Prince of Persia that was just hinted at.

It’s all wild speculation at this point, but it certainly makes sense. Especially when one considers how Assassin’s Creed was originally going to be a Prince of Persia reboot as well. So basically, Osiris could be its own thing, or a brand new Prince of Persia, or even Assassin’s Creed 4. Or maybe even all three.

Yes, it’s way confusing. Guess we’ll know more once E3 2013 rolls around.
