‘Skyrim’ with a VR headset and treadmill as awkward as it sounds

Once again, for a truly engrossing in-game experience, you’re going to look like an idiot in the real world, plain and simple.

Remember that VR mod for Half-Life 2, which made the game look hella immersive, but the player hella stupid? Well, the following, playing Skyrim, is worse; say hello to the Virtuix Omni…

As you can see, it combines a standard VR headset with some sort of treadmill. Apparently the Kinect is also part of the mix, though I have no idea how or why. Here’s another video, featuring Crysis Warhead; no matter the game, you’re going to appear ridiculous no matter what…

The thing about these VR headsets is its one major side effect: motion sickness. Which often comes suddenly and brutally. And I can’t think of anything worse than trying to rush to bathroom, before vomiting all over yourself, plus your gaming gear, but first having to remove yourself what essentially looks like a baby walker for adults.

Anyhow, according to the company behind it, there’s a Kickstarter on the way to fully fund the Virtuix Omni. Yeah, good luck with that.
