WWE.com has confirmed that the Bad News Barrett injury suffered during Tuesday night’s SmackDown tapings in Pittsburgh is a separated shoulder.
WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann confirmed to the website that Bad News Barrett “sustained an injury to his right shoulder when he was thrown into the barricade by Jack Swagger. After Barrett felt an immediate pain and a pop,” continued Amann, “we brought him back to the training room and the exam showed a separated shoulder. We’re going to do some additional testing this week and then sit down with him and talk about options for treatment for this injury.”
Barrett was scheduled to face off against Dean Ambrose, Jack Swagger, Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship sometime in the future. The Bad News Barrett injury will likely keep him out of the match though no official decision has been made yet regarding Barrett’s participation at Money In the Bank. The Bad News Barrett injury adds a huge hole to the Money In the Bank ladder match this Sunday.
Fans in attendance confirmed the Bad News Barrett injury is legit, since some questioned it’s authenticity based on WWE.com breaking the news and Dr. Amann giving a full update.

Fan jumps Reigns at Smackdown taping
An overzealous female fan made a grab for Roman Reigns as he made his way through the crowd at the Smackdown tapings in Pittsburgh. Reigns was doing his normal entrance through the stadium seating when the woman went after The Shield star. Security intervened in the situation and escorted the woman out of the arena.
This isn’t the first time Reigns has been “attacked” by a female fan. Back in May, a young lady tried to jump on Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose on their way to the ring. Security made the stop before she got too far.
Wrestler who sued WWE Hall of Famer getting tryout?
Indy wrestler Devon Nicholson claimed that WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher gave him Hepatitis C when he bladed in a 2007 independent match without Nicholson’s consent. In the case, Nicholson claimed that he lost a WWE developmental deal because of his Hepatitis C. Nicholson announced late last year that he had been cured. Nicholson successfully sued Abdullah for $2.3 million and won.
Nicholson recently told The Ottawa Community News that he returned to the ring back in May and will be getting a tryout with WWE on July 18th in Iowa.
Former Diva in hospital
Former WWE Diva Jillian Hall tweeted a selfie last night from a hospital but made no mention of why she was there or how long she expected to stay. She also tweeted photos last month of a black eye and wrote that she had been “having major headaches for weeks” without addressing the shiner. Hall said in another tweet she’ll be moving out of Orlando to get “a fresh start.” More on this as it develops.

WWE announcers JBL and Michael Cole are still training for a future mountain climb and JBL noted on Twitter that the pair are 72 days away from climbing the summit of Mount Rainier in Washington. Keep training, Maggle!
