About two-thirds of the way into an Ohio State scrimmage yesterday, Buckeye mascot Brutus got the chance to run a couple of plays at quarterback. Because it will never not be funny to watch violence against mascots with comically over-sized heads, linebacker David Perkins made a beeline for Brutus, who was running a sweep off a shotgun snap on the left side of the line.
“It was see ball, hit ball,” Perkins explained. “It was just a little joke. It was just part of the day. … Having the people out here, it gets us closer with our fans so they can see how it is, and so we can feel the energy from them just like we do on game day.”
Brutus had no comment, as usual.
I've got nothing more to add, or than that he looks to be in a daze after the hit. And that this is ridiculously funny.
