From St. Vincent's St. Marys to the NBA title, the PTI guys have been through it all.
Dope stuff from the guys over at Grantland. They've really been crushing that YouTube channel of theirs, and this is no exception. It's actually a 'ception, because in my super-important opinion, this is their finest work to date.
LeBron has always been a controversial character. Or rather, media types have done all they (we?) possibly could to make LeBrizzle a hero-villain of the highest degree. After watching this, it's pretty amazing to think that James has managed to keep his cool after all these years. The lack of human meltdown may just be the most impressive feat of James' legendary career thus far.
Via Erik Rydholm, Executive Producer of PTI:
We started talking about LeBron James on Pardon the Interruption 10 years ago, when Tony, Mike, and LeBron were all less bald. Now that LeBron has won a title, the dominant question is how historically great he'll be. Time will wash out many of his early struggles and much of the early criticism he received. We thought it valuable to look back over what onetime Washington Post publisher Phil Graham called "the first rough draft of history" to see not only how LeBron has changed, but how the appraisals of him have, too.
