Saw this video yesterday and was convinced it was a spoof, a cleverly done joke by an improv team seeking attention. It turns out that Ultimate Tazer Ball is real. The premise is simple: players attempt to score a goal with a giant ball while the defense chases them around with 300,000-volt electroshock guns. Just good, old-fashioned fun.
“It’s not technically a police grade Taser,” said Eric Prum, 25, one of the founders of Ultimate Tazer Ball. “That being said, the first thing the [players] will tell you is that they hate getting tased. Those things really do hurt.”
Yeah, that makes sense.
There are currently four teams in the sport's professional league. If you're near the Philadelphia, San Diego, Los Angeles or Toronto areas, one well-placed phone call could get you on the path to stardom. Almost stupid if you don't do it, right?
