Throughout Euro 2012, defending champion Spain was criticized for playing a boring brand of football.

A 4-0 blowout in this afternoon’s final should shut up anyone who said anything along those lines.

Spain became the first country to repeat as European champions and the first to win three consecutive major international tournaments.

They got goals from David Silva,  Jordi Alba, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata. 

In doing so, they spawned a question – a legitimate one – if they are indeed the greatest team of all time.
