Running over members of the Toledo band cost Northern Illinois linebacker Jamaal Bass three games this season, but that may not be the end of his problems. The freshman was charged with one count of felonious assault and one count of misdemeanor assault for lowering the boom on the Rockets’ woodwind section. The hit apparently concussed multiple band members and could result in a maximum of eight years in prison.
