A ref getting beaned? How funny could that be?

Funny.

The NFL’s experiment with replacement refs during the 2012 preseason has been pretty comical, to say the least. However, as bad as they have been, at least none of them have been hit in the head and knocked off their feet by an errant pass. Or at least, not yet.

However, such a misfortune did befall one poor referee at a high school football game in Allentown, Pennsylvania, just last week.

At the season-opening game between the Dieruff High Huskies and the Pocono Mountain East Cardinals, Huskies quarterback Quintin Williams accomplished a remarkable feat when he launched a long pass down the field that overshot the intended receiver by 10 yards, but managed to clock an official in the head and knock him off his feet.

To add insult to insult, the Huskies have lost a casual 31 games in a row.
