Kyrie Irving will probably go down as one of the most likeable Duke players ever. Which isn't the highest praise, but think about this: When you watch him play, do you think Duke? How many other NBA players, ever, does that apply to? Elton Brand, maybe?
My point is that Irving's virtuosity has transcended his popularly hated background. He's so much damn fun to watch. The ball looks like it's coming off a yo yo string for him, and he has the stepback J of a wily vet. He also occasionally does stuff like this—playing a pickup game with a bunch of Montclair State University students, just because. Even a Tar Heel has to like him.
