Mississippi Valley State guard Kevin Burwell is acutely aware that President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron have courtside seats for tonight’s First Four game in Dayton. After a woeful first half in which both teams couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, Obama poked fun at the shooting in an interview with Clark Kellogg.
Early in the second half, Burwell chased down a loose ball in the president’s corner and nailed a fadeaway three-pointer. He then took the opportunity to stare down the leader of the free world. There may have even been some trash talk.
It was weird. It’s getting weirder, too, as he keeps looking over at Obama and Cameron after every good play he makes, like a 7-year-old in a YMCA game.
