This will leave you breathless.
ESPN recruited Academy Award-winning documentarian Errol Morris to do a short 8-minute film on sports-themed funerals. It's part of the World Wide Leader's ongoing "It's Not Crazy, It's Sports" campaign. The video features interviews with funeral home directors and tombstone makers talking about the bereaved with a special last wish: A funeral showing off their die-hard loyalty to the team. We have a Baltimore Orioles casket, a departed Steelers fan who holds a wake in his recliner, "watching" a Steelers game on tv, a Raiders tombstone, a Nascar fan going for a posthumous lap around the track, Aggie fans buried near Kyle Field. Etc, etc, etc. It's a little weird and definitely a little creepy, but also an extremely compelling watch. Fine work, ESPN. Fine work.
