If you haven't noticed as of late NBA stars are embracing and catering to fans in Asia. The reason you ask? Well how about 3.9 billion reasons. Since there are about 3.9 billion people in Asia, which represents 3.9 billion potential consumers for sneakers and jerseys. Asia hosts 60% of the world's population so it makes good business sense to market star athletes there. Dwight Howard is currently in Japan where he performed an unusual dunk to please his fans.
At the Roppongi Hills shopping mall in Tokyo, Howard took on someone who is actually taller than him, a 12-foot tall stuffed giraffe with a basketball hoop attached to its neck. After sizing up the competition, Howard took a few steps and then dunked on the wild animal. But the show wasn't over, Howard also dunked with a clown wig on. The Orlando Magic center bounced it off the backboard and threw it down with authority. The Superman of slam dunk contests is going to be hard-pressed to beat these two amazing dunks.
