I think the most pain you can receive while playing hockey is not a swift right hook in a hockey fight, but having your face obliterated from an icy puck smashing into you much like poor Daniel Paille.

Early in the third period of tonight's Bruins and New York Islanders game, Boston's left winger Daniel Paille suffered a gruesome injury. Steve Staios of the Islanders fired a slapshot that smashed Paille right in the face.  Paille did not return to the game and Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien said that Daniel was struck near the nose and will see a specialist tonight.
