In sports media circles, the biggest no-no for sports journalists is asking a player or coach for an autograph. The blogsosphere got rather upset when Fox Sports' Alex Marvez Tweeted last year that two credentialed members of the media asked Tim Tebow for autographs. Same story earlier this summer when a reporter for a Nebraska TV station asked Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz for an autograph for his girlfriend.
However, down in Costa Rica, the sideline reporters assigned to cover a team have no problem blurring the line between being a professional and a fan. In fact, they can be rather upfront about it. Here we have a lady blatantly dropping trou mid-interview with CD Saprissa’s Wilson Munoz, asking him to give his John Hancock on her thonged-posterior. He declines. Meanwhile, we are utterly aghast at the lack of journalistic integrity in Central America! If this were to happen in America, Skip Bayless would deflate on air (much like a prolonged, bout of fluctuate after eating a Qdoba burrito -- which might be fun to watch) and the Internet would delightfully sh*t a brick for a few days. The horror!
