These athletic studs just keep getting freakier and freakier. 

Meet Cameroon-native and Gainesville (Fla.) The Rock School center Joel Embiid. While you may not have heard of him before, this is almost certainly not the last time his name will be prominent in the elite hoops scene now that his presence is finally being felt in the U.S.

As reported by Rivals.com's Eric Bossi and others, Embiid first began playing basketball just a year ago, at the age of 16. Despite his late adoption of the sport, the Cameroonian has shown few of the typical struggles with coordination and dexterity that often plague other 7-footers.

As you may expect, "JoJo" is getting the sorts of interest from basketball higher ups that often include a guy with a suit quasi-legally visiting your house with three too many pamphlets that are never so much opened due to all the sweet talk. A monostrosity of a basketball player that looks like an immmensely scarier (and at this stage, more offensively-minded) version of Anthony Davis, it'd be difficult not to imagine this kid with the words "NBA" written all over his face sooner rather than later.
