The simple ideas are the best when it comes to designing a great sports jersey.
Over the years, sports franchises have battled the color schemes, logos, and font of their uniforms. It doesn't usually work out every time. Just ask the Toronto Raptors or the Arizona Diamondbacks. The more complex the design, the bigger chance of failure. That is why I love the throwback jerseys. They bring us back to a time before selling uniforms was more important than the game itself.
Throwback uniforms have become increasingly more popular among sports fans for one reason, simplicity. Some of the greatest jerseys ever designed feature nothing more than two colors and the team name across the chest. That is it. Nothing too fancy, nothing too showy, just powder blue and a few lighting bolts on the sleeves.
So let's take a look back at some of the greatest throwback jerseys ever made.
