Zach Randolph is Afraid of Cats

I will never, ever understand how a human could possibly prefer a cat to a dog. Memphis Grizzlies big man Zach Randolph doesn’t understand it either.

He is featured on this week's episode of "Pit Bulls and Parolees" (10 p.m. Saturday, Animal Planet) about a dog that had been trapped in a Memphis drainpipe.

"It was emotional, man!" Randolph told ESPN.com. "I got a passion for these animals. I really do."

Randolph is a spokesman for the Memphis Humane Society and has two Russian terriers that are show dogs with two more on the way.

But about cats ...

"You can't be both a dog lover and a cat lover," Randolph said. "I've got a crazy phobia about cats. For some reason, I'm always thinking they're going to scratch me.

"If a cat walks up, I'm going, 'Oh no, this dude about to scratch me, I know it!' Cats scare the hell out of me."

It’s a very real concern. Cats are a bunch of bitches, and they’re sneaky fuckers to boot. Z-Bo knows what’s up.
