WWE Rumors: Sting to sign WWE contract in the next few days?

via WWE

Sting has never stepped foot in a WWE ring. That might not be true after this week.

Sting’s TNA contract expired in January. Rumors have been swirling since before Wrestlemania XXX that Sting would sign at least a legends deal with the WWE. His former tag team partner, Jim Hellwig (The Ultimate Warrior), was being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame so bringing in the former WCW and TNA star made perfect sense.

Sting wasn’t at the WWE Hall of Fame inductions, or Wrestlemania XXX, but that doesn’t mean a deal isn’t coming.

Jim Ross made a comment on his official blog about the possibility of the Stinger becoming a full time WWE superstar.

“Signing Sting would create positive news for WWE as he is a major star that WWE can monetize in a variety of ways if he comes aboard,” he wrote.

“I don’t see Sting even needing to wrestle to be a viable asset to WWE if he does sign with the company. If Sting did have one match it WWE it would need to be a long build, much anticipated one that has a significant payoff at a major event more specifically WM31.”

Will Sting finally make the jump to the WWE?
