Woman Steals Nearly $500,000 in Jewelry from Shaun Rogers After Hanging Out in His Hotel Room

New York Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was robbed of nearly $500,000 worth of jewels after romancing a woman in a Miami Beach hotel.

The 34-year-old Rogers, who recently re-signed with the Giants for one year and just $1.005 million (including a salary of $940,000), was robbed after a night out clubbing with some friends, according to the CBS affiliate in Miami.

Miami Beach Police told the station that Rogers and his group met a woman at Club Liv and brought her back to his room at the Fontainebleau Hotel around 7 a.m., when he put his jewelry in a safe in his room.

When Rogers awoke at 12:30 p.m., according to the report, the woman and the jewelry — straight out of the locked safe, apparently — were gone.

Rogers, the report said, could not open the safe on his own when he woke up so he summoned hotel security. They pried open the safe and confirmed his jewelry was missing.

According to CBS Miami, among the missing items were diamond earrings ($100,000), two watches ($160,000 total), a gold necklace and pendant ($50,000), gold bracelets ($60,000), and a diamond Cuban necklace and pendant ($70,000).

It’s stuff like this that makes a guy wish he had a gun handy.
