Here Are Our Week 3 NFL Picks Against the Spread

Last night’s game between the Falcons and Buccaneers was an unmitigated disaster. It didn’t look so bad on paper, but clearly was terrible on the field. When the highlight of the game is some chick grabbing her man’s junk, then it’s a bad football game. At least we could bask in Devin Hester breaking Deion Sanders’ streak for return touchdowns. Let’s hope this weekend does better.

Locks of the Week:

Indianapolis -6.5 over JACKSONVILLE
The Colts aren’t going 0-3, that I can promise you. Indianapolis’ defense is clearly a weakness, but the Jags have only scored 10 points in the last 90 minutes of football against two average defenses. They’re clearly not talented enough to capitalize on the lackluster defending.

Kyle’s pick: Indianapolis

Dallas +1.5 over ST. LOUIS
St. Louis is beaten up on both sides of the ball, but they pulled a win out last week against a Buccaneers’ team that seemed decent at the time. After what we saw last night in Atlanta, that win becomes meaningless in quality. As long as the Cowboys bring the same running game and turnover free football they brought to Tennessee, they’ll be fine.

Kyle’s pick: Dallas

CAROLINA -3.5 over Pittsburgh
I don’t think people respect the Panthers right now, which is weird given how dominant they were at times last year.

Kyle’s pick: Carolina

Trap Game of the Week:

N.Y. GIANTS +2.5 over Houston
The Giants have shown nothing so far this season to make you have faith in them this weekend, but I feel like they’ve got one last stand in them. The season is clearly over is they lose this week and the offense looks slightly improved. Plus, I didn’t think beer at Giants’ game was that cheap.

Kyle’s pick: Giants

‎Rest of the Picks:

CINCINNATI -6.5 over Tennessee
Missing A.J. Green may turn out to be a problem for Cincinnati, but their defense and running game should be enough at home.

Kyle’s pick: Cincinnati

BUFFALO -1 over San Diego
San Diego’s riding off a high after last week’s upset of Seattle, but Buffalo has been playing well to start the year as well. Their pass rush will cause San Diego problems.

Kyle’s pick: San Diego

Washington +7.5 over PHILADELPHIA
I don’t believe enough in the Eagles’ defense to think they can hold down a decent offense by more than a touchdown.

Kyle’s pick: The Fightin’ Kirk Cousins

NEW ENGLAND -14.5 over Oakland
The survivor pick of the week is all in on the Patriots this Sunday. I mean, have you seen Brady’s resume??

Kyle’s pick: New England

NEW ORLEANS -9.5 over Minnesota
Like the Colts, the Saints are not going 0-3 especially if they come home against a team in turmoil.

Kyle’s pick: New Orleans

Green Bay +1.5 over DETROIT
This is one of the games we usually get on Thanksgiving, but Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are comfortable either way. Green Bay can’t start as slow as they did against the Jets, but they’ve learned plenty in a week.

Kyle’s pick: Green Bay

CLEVELAND +1.5 over Baltimore
The Browns just have something working against the spreads so far this season. Everyone will be on Baltimore after last week’s national TV win, but I’d say they didn’t look so good at in doing it.

Kyle’s pick: Baltimore

San Francisco -2.5 over ARIZONA
I’ve been impressed at how well the 49ers defense has played this year despite losing talent. Carson Palmer’s not at 100 percent even if he plays and Drew Stanton is not the answer if he takes his place. Just as long as Colin Kaepernick doen’t turn the ball over four times, San Francisco will be fine. (The people won’t be. Why is beer so expensive in the Bay Area ?!?)

Kyle’s pick: San Francisco

SEATTLE -4.5 over Denver
It’s a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl. Hopefully we’re slightly more entertained. It’s better that Seattle lost last week so they’re more focused in this one.

Kyle’s pick: Denver

MIAMI -4.5 over Kansas City
The Chiefs deserve some credit for bring the heat last week, but that was against a division rival. Look for the talent level to drop as they fly to Florida.

Kyle’s pick: Miami

Chicago +1.5 over N.Y. JETS
This comes down to a porous Jets’ secondary. In that we trust.

Kyle’s pick: Chicago
