Watch Paul Pierce Bring His Competitive Fire to the World Series of Poker

Pierce partcipated in the 2013 WSOP's Pot Limit Omaha event. He started out pretty well–according to The Big Lead, he finished the first day in the top 20 out of almost 400 participants. He was eliminated last night though, the crucial news brought to us by the good folks at Poker News:

Paul Pierce, who is set to be traded from the Boston Celtics to the Brooklyn Nets on July 10, checked on a flop of . Nadar Kakhmazov tossed out 4,000, Pierce check-raised to 24,000, and Kakhmazov moved all in. Pierce called for a few thousand more.

Pierce was drawing dead, and hit the rail when the turn and river came , respectively.

 

He's got the ring, so clearly it's now all about the bracelet.
