Last Friday, a high school student from Louisville had her prom night dream come true, when Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater unexpectedly showed up to her house to surprise her and offer his arm for the evening.

As you can imagine, the shock of an NFL star – and the pride of Louisville, Ky. – showing up to her front step on prom night was the best kind of overwhelming a young girl (and diehard Louisville fan) could ask for.

Thrilled and overjoyed, Davis offered some remarks to local station WLKY about a prom night to tell the grandchildren about one day.
“This is like heaven, yeah. Well, I was standing on the front porch, and Teddy came around the corner and I started crying and we just got pictures. I was on cloud nine,” Davis said.
And Teddy Bridgewater added how happy he was to play escort to the young lady all evening.
“It was a great feeling, I almost shed a tear. But nobody saw that. It was caught in the corner in the eye. But you know, it was a priceless moment. It’s one of those moments that make you feel very good,” Bridgewater said.
“I felt that it was the right thing to do. It was a good thing to do. It kind of touched me when I first met her. How she kind of teared up and everything. It just showed that I made an impact here on the playing field on and off the playing field. Ashley … She is just a great girl and I am going to make sure she has a great time tonight,” he said.

Ashley, when asked about what her classmates reaction would be added that “People are probably going to be a little bit jealous. But I am very grateful and blessed to have him here with me on my prom. So it’s really special.”
Jealous certainly has to be an understatement. It’s not every day an NFL QB surprises you with a prom date, that’s for sure. It’s great to see that they both had a great time, and surely an evening that neither of them will soon forget.

As you can imagine, he was the talk of the evening, readily obliging to take pictures with any of Davis’ classmates who asked. A class-act all around.
