Thanks to the folks at Medal Count, we can say that the Americans dominated in London, winning 104 medals to No. 2 China's 87. The U.S. also finished first in gold medals, taking 46 to China's 38. The host country, Great Britain, had a particularly good two weeks as well, coming in third in the medal count and winning the alway tricky “No Major Acts of Terror Committed During the Games” award. Nice security presence there, chaps.

The 104 medals won by the U.S. is actually six less than it won in Beijing, however the Chinese dominated the gold medals at the 2008 Olympics, taking 51 to the U.S.'s 36. This year, though, the Yanks found some revenge.
