The Kansas City Royals continued their winning ways with an extra-innings victory over the Los Angeles Angels last night in Game 1 of their American League Division Series.
The small-market club, making its first postseason appearance since 1985, is rapidly becoming America’s latest feel-good story. Except for umpire Paul Nauert. He’s likely not feeling too great this morning after taking a fastball to his most sensitive area.
It should be noted that Nauert handled the blow better than anyone of us would have in a similar situation, refusing any delay and getting on with his business.
