There was some Toronto Maple Leaf on Toronto Maple Leaf violence last night and it was bone-jarring. Dion Phaneuf was attempting to deliver a big hit on San Jose’s Patrick Marleau but missed, instead connecting with teammate James van Riemsdyk.
Luckily, serious injury was averted.
I wonder if JVR congratulated Phaneuf on his hitting skills or was too pissed off to do so. And if Phaneuf apologized for the friendly fire.
