So this happened. I knew there had to be some tension, but I thought they were also the best of pals. Tiger was the guy's best man at his wedding for Christ's sake. Anyway, Tiger and Steve's comments are below. 

According to ESPN, Tiger had this to say:

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods said on his website. "Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."

Steve Williams reaction to the news:

"Needless to say this came as a shock," Williams said. "Given the circ*mstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries, I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time."

Maybe I'm off-base here, but didn't Tiger cause his own windfall of shit and non-success? To fire Williams because you can't hack it lately is some f*cking bullshit if you ask me. Yeah, Woods has made Williams an abundance of money, but you don't do this to someone you consider a best friend.
