Throwing moose legs on the ice is now a thing in Canada

Ah yes, Canada. Our friendly neighbors to the north. The home for curling, Molson beer, Avril Lavigne and tossing animal appendages on ice. After forcing a seventh game in a playoff series, OCN blizzard fans tossed a severed moose leg in celebration. Similar to the Wings tossing octopi on the ice, except less slimy.

Bradley Karp who calls games for the team posted this on Twitter as proof.

Here’s the backstory from Karp (via Puck Daddy).

The team is based out of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation here in Northern Manitoba, just across the river from the town of The Pas. The Blizzard are currently in the playoffs in the second round. They found themselves down 3-0 to the Dauphin Kings (regular season champs) and have reeled off three straight wins to force a Game 7 on Wednesday. Anyway, Game 6 was tonight at the GLMC (referred to as the Rez Dome) and a fan threw a REAL MOOSE LEG on the ice.

Can’t handle all the #hoserism.
