Rob Gronkowski is unlike any football player that’s ever strapped on a pair of shoulder pads – both on the field and off – and we love him for that. But sadly, the crusty old New England Patriots front office has told him to take it down a notch.
After posing nude for ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue” and partying at events for the issue and the ESPYs (Gronkowski was up for two awards but was shut out), and co-hosting “Access Hollywood Live” in recent days — things that seem un-Patriot-like — don’t be surprised if he lays low for the next couple of weeks.
Via a league source, Gronkowski has been told by the team that his summer of Gronk, so to speak, is over.
That right there is why they call it the No Fun League.
As I noted before, Gronk was the unquestioned star of the ESPY festivities and was truly a sight to behold. His level of energy is just ridiculous.
Patriots fans should hope that his play isn’t buoyed by his, um, eventful off-field schedule.
