The Clint Malarchuk ’30 for 30′ short is spectacular

The Clint Malarchuk injury remains the most gruesome in sports. During a game in 1989, Malarchuk, a goalie for the Buffalo Sabres, took an inadvertent skate to the carotid artery. What followed was something out of a horror movie. Blood spurting all over the ice as Malarchuk grasped his neck in horror. If not for the quick thinking of former Army medic and trainer, Jim Pizzutelli, Malarchuk would be dead.

This ESPN 30 for 30 short on Malarchuk’s injury is must-watch.
