The once-proud Texas Longhorns have been a steaming pile of embarrassment this year. With a 1-2 record and a 34-point home loss to BYU to their name, expectations for the rest of the year are low for everyone except freshman quarterback Tyrone Swoopes.

“”
Texas can make College Football Playoff this year? Swoopes: “This year, yes.” With two losses? “Yeah.”

So Swoopes is either completely clueless or the most optimistic person on the face of the earth. The sequence of events necessary for Texas to be considered one of the top four teams in the country is unimaginable.
On the bright side, he sounds like the type of kid whose teammates would run through a brick wall for — mostly because they’re convinced they won’t get hurt.
