Texas A&M To Wear Faux Leather Helmets Against Louisiana-Monroe

Texas A&M won the national championship in 1939, back when the school was called the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. College football was a different game back then. For instance, there was no made-for-television show revealing a selection committee’s best teams of the moment.

The Aggies will pay tribute to that title-winning team when Louisiana-Monroe rolls into College Station by wearing throwback uniforms and incredibly awesome helmets which look like leather. Luckily for the brain matter of all involved they just made a 2014 helmet look like a 1939 helmet aesthetically.

You just know Johnny Manziel will have his grubby little paws on one of these by the weekend. And dammit, I’m jealous. These are badass.
