Today in NFL conspiracy news (and who doesn't love a good sports conspiracy), Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens claims NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell caused last year's Super Bowl blackout.
Conspiracies usually exist in the realm of the loser, so when the victor comes out and says it's rigged, it should carry more weight. Here is Suggs's claim:
I was like Vegas, parlor tricks, you know what I mean? ... Roger Goodell, he never stops, he always has something up his sleeve. He just couldn't let us have this one in a landslide, huh?
The 49ers did storm back after the blackout, making for a thrilling fourth quarter ending. Suggs is adamant.
Most definitely, he had a hand in it.
While I wouldn't put anything past Roger Goodell, who seems like an 80's Bond villain, this seems doubtful. How could he know it would have the desired effect? BroBible Snopes says: FALSE.
