Ed Hochuli is the most recognizable ref in the National Football League due to his bulging biceps, love of the spoken word and propensity to interject himself and his officiating crew into the key moments of the game. Put another way, the guy has a reputation for loving his airtime.
So that’s what makes what happened last night during the Pittsburgh Steelers-Baltimore Ravens game even more enjoyable. Hochuli delivered a call with his back to the press box before realizing his mistake and slyly turning around. Either that, or it was part of his diabolical plan to get us to look at his lats.
That smile, though. That smile is the smile of a person who is winning at life.
