Look at these. Look... at... these: On Friday, TCU debuted its opening game uniform, a stunning, special-edition mostly-black set by Nike that includes one of the more badass helmets I've ever seen. The helmet is black, with a purple matte finish, and running along the sides are two blood-red accents that, according to Nike, "harken back to the horned frog’s defense mechanism—a shot of blood from the eyes that repels encroaching foes." The words "Fear the Frog" are embroidered on the back neckline of the jersey.
But let's go back to FROGS SHOOTING BLOOD. Because that's the greatest homage I've seen from a jersey this year. Why is LSU still taking the field on Saturday? Why do they think they're worthy of even wearing purple?
Also, Oregon: This is a wake-up call. We expect no less than actual duck feathers taped to the arms come November.
