Sparty is the best mascot in college sports, but is not the most reliable running back. In fact, he’s fumbled every time he’s carried the ball in a game.

Spartans coach Mark Dantonio decided to let the brawny booster run a halfback sprint in the team’s spring contest. The results were disastrous.

Can’t he hear in that costume? His only directive was to not put it on the ground and he coughed it right up, leading to a defensive touchdown.

So now we know Mascot Mode doesn’t really work in real life.
