South Carolina Players Tackle Each Other, Allow The First CFB Touchdown This Season

There had been a lot of talk about the South Carolina Gamecocks’ defense heading into their opening game matchup against the North Carolina Tar Heels. With a new defensive coordinator after shitting the bed last season when they finished ranked 91st nationally out of 128 teams in yards allowed and, seemingly, couldn’t tackle a fucking immobile object.

Well, it might be time to get back to the fundamentals of tackling, boys.

With Tar Heels’ wide receiver Bug Howard making a catch at the Cocks’ five-yard line, defenders Isaiah Johnson and Rico McWilliams didn’t just avoid bringing him down, but actually tackled one another, as Johnson looked like he went full Hit Stick on his teammate.

This, bros, is your first touchdown of the college football season—and it was as sloppy a scoring play as any you’ll see during the year.

I’m surprised cameras didn’t catch Steve Spurrier spiking his visor into the ground.
