Despite rumors to the contrary, Sergio Garcia did not apologize to Tiger Woods in person yesterday. Rather, he left a handwritten note in Tiger’s locker. Fair or foul?
The apology of course was for Sergio’s rather harsh remarks about Tiger at last month’s European awards gala.
“We will have him round every night. We will serve fried chicken.”
It was supposed to be water under the bridge after the two traded handshakes at on the practice green yesterday. But alas, Sergio didn’t have the guts to do it in person. He’s not saying what’s in the letter either.
“I don’t think that’s for me to say. The note is for him. So if he wants to show you then he can. I don’t have any problem with that. But I’m not going to be the one showing you.”
So yea, this story’s not dead quite yet.
