Maria Sharapova was on “Chelsea Lately” last night, which I know because my fiancée DVRs that estrogen-heavy gabfest. Kill me now. Anyway, the tennis player’s interview took an interesting turn when Handler asked if she warranted her reputation as “kind of a b*tch.”
Handler: "You are a b*tch, I like that."
Sharapova: "I really am."
Handler: "You have a reputation for being kind of a b*itch. Right? Why, are you?"
Sharapova: "At times."
Handler: "Do you not hang out with the other tennis girls. Is that why people think that?"
Sharapova: "I'm not exactly giving them fives in the shower. It's not my thing. I get out of the locker room as fast as I can. It's not my hangout."
Handler: "That's good. I like that attitude. You don't really give a sh*t."
While maintaining a competitive edge is important, it’s disappointing that one of tennis’ loveliest ladies isn’t slapping skin with her competitors in the shower. That makes for a nice mental image, doesn’t it?
