Rutgers stand out wide receiver Mohamed Sanu was ecstatic when he received the call that he had been drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals. One problem, the Bengals actually drafted an offensive lineman.
In the closing picks of the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday Sanu, his friends, and family were watching the television very anxiously as they awaited Roger Goodell to say his name. During the 27th pick of the draft Sanu's phone rang and he was informed by the Bengals that he was drafted by the Bengals. Jubilation and cheers echoed throughout the room. Sanu's agent, Mike McCartney, quickly posted on Twitter, "Sanu to Bengals!" Moments later Goodell walked to the podium and announced that Cincinnati had selected Wisconsin offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler with the 27th pick. Definitely a devastatingly cruel prank to f*ck with someone' dreams and emotions like that. Sanu will have to play the waiting game again when the second round of the draft starts, but if a team does come calling, the cautious excitement might be a little reserved.
