Rory McIlroy did Caroline Wozniacki dirty, dumped her in a three-minute phone call

Rory McIlroy broke off his wedding with Caroline Wozniacki in a three-minute phone call according to The Times. That’s about as cruel as it gets folks.

Last week, McIlroy issued this statement days after the two sent out wedding invitations.

“The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails. There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people.

McIlroy followed up the announcement with a victory at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. A clearly distraught Caroline Wozniacki dropped her first round match in the French Open against Yanina Wickmayer. Afterward, a normally cheerful Wozniacki had this to say in the press conference.

“I don’t really want to talk about my personal life,” Wozniacki said in a statement before the start of her news conference Tuesday. “I hope that you all can understand that. The only thing I really have to say is that, you know, thank everybody for their support and sweet messages. That’s really nice.”

Poor girl. She said the break-up came as a shock. Uh, yeah. You just sent out wedding invitations. I’m guessing the last thing on your mind was, “is he going to dump me?”

All in all, this is the worst. Breaking off a wedding is bad enough. Breaking off a wedding in a three-minute phone call is the asbsolute pits. Chin up Caroline.
