Even the bad girl of MMA has a soft side.
That soft side could probably also kick your face back into your skull.
In a recent interview on The Tommy Toe Hold show, Rousey and host Tommy Toe Hold (did that need to be said?) totally geeked out when the discussion turned to Pokémon. Rousey spit out some Pokémon knowledge that could rival the gospel of even the biggest Pokémon dork.
Favorite Pokémon? “Mew,” she said. Why?
“Mew is the originator of all the other Pokémons … Mew is the original one and [all the other Pokémon] came from that one. And, you couldn’t catch Mew in the original game. You had to use the lavender town.”
Rousey went on to explain how her deep devotion to the world of Pokémon began.
“I actually went to the mall for those Pokémon events, those little tournaments to get me a Mew. I wanted Mew so bad. I waited in line with all the other nerds for hours. I wanted to get me a Mew, and a Mew certificate of authenticity that I taped to my wall,” Rousey was not ashamed to admit.
Her dorkiness is rather adorable. Don’t tell her I said that. I like my face just fine the way it is.
