Roddy Piper’s death continues to send shockwaves around the world, especially in the wrestling community. TMZ reached out to Hot Rod’s fellow heel, Ric Flair, for comment on the loss of his friend and former wrestling foe. It hits right in the feels:
“We’ve shared the ring, traveled the world, maintained a friendship throughout the ups and downs of the wrestling world, and battled to see who was the better heel,” Flair said.
“It’s almost impossible to express my grief. My condolences to his children and to his wife Kitty. I’ll miss you Roddy. The world will never be as Rowdy without you.”
Absolutely devastating, especially just a few months after the passing of Dusty Rhodes. When I talked to Ric Flair a few months ago, he told me that his match with Roddy at Madison Square Garden is one of his most treasured moments of his wrestling career.
