Keep this story in mind next time you complain about NFL salaries. Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson lost the top of his middle finger during yesterday’s game. He kept playing. He’s either incredibly stupid or incredibly brave. Or both. Who knows.

Perhaps the most amazing part of this story is that Johnson didn’t realize the finger was lopped off until he took off his glove. “Ow, my finger hurts, must be broken or something. Maybe dislocated. Let me take a look at it and OMG!”
Johnson had surgery to shave down the bone to the first knuckle. That sounds pleasant. I’d tell you he’s doubtful this week but really, who needs the top of their middle finger? The entire finger itself? Sure. But the top? Nah, Johnson will do just fine.
