PGA Pro Scott Piercy Got A Taste Of What It’s Like To Be A Shitty Amateur While Playing His First Hole At Riviera

Scott Piercy started the first round of the Northern Trust Open on the risk/reward, 315 yard, par 4 10th hole at Riviera Country Club. Like anyone with half a brain, Piercy pulled out driver and went for the green, because you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take and shit.

Piercy hit a decent drive that left his ball in a green-side bunker. Since he’s a pro, the expectation is that, at worst, he’d leave himself with a 10 foot putt for birdie. That didn’t happen. Instead of making birdie or a stress free par, Piercy went from bunker to bunker to bunker to bunker to green and had to make a lengthy putt for double bogey. HORRIFYING STUFF. The kind of result that would potentially destroy an amateur’s entire day and fuck his confidence royally. As it turns out, Piercy’s a lot like us, because the rest of his front nine was a total shitbath as well.

Not to brag, but I’ve definitely shot a 43 on nine holes before.
