Peyton Manning won’t be taking his talents to South Beach. The four-time NFL MVP told the Miami Dolphins they were out of running to land him as the free agent continues to be wooed by prospective teams.
This leaves the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals as consensus frontrunners.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Manning will work out for the Broncos at the Duke football facility today. A traveling party including John Elway, head coach John Fox, offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and members of the medical staff are currently on a plane bound for North Carolina.
Insiders are quick to point out that this doesn’t necessarily mean Denver has an edge. It’s quite possible that there will be similar workouts for all teams in which Manning is interested.
