Not since O.J. Simpson's "I Am the Knife That Cuts Through the D" commercial1 have we seen something quite this ironic. Today, Nike was forced to pull an ad that features blade runner Oscar Pistorius—who was charged today with murdering his girlfriend—which contained the copy "I Am The Bullet In The Chamber." The ad was featured prominently on Pistorius' website, but has since been taken down. For obvious reasons.
Pistorius also participated in a 2008 campaign for the shoe company that featured the tagline "This is my weapon." Yeesh.
1Not real, obviously. Neither is Plaxico Burress' "I am the Gun That Goes Off" campaign. Or Mike Vick's "Speed Unchained" commercial. Or... okay, I'll stop. This is wrong.
