The New York Yankees Turned a 5-4-3 Triple Play With Ease

By 04.18.14

The New York Yankees pulled off a rare triple play last night, going around the horn in style following a hard-hit groundball by Tampa Bay’s Sean Rodriguez.

Alex Rodriguez stand-in Yangervis Solarte fielded the smash, stepped on third and fired down to second baseman Brian Roberts, who deftly executed the turn.

It was the third triple play starter CC Sabathia has been a part of in the past four years, and all of them have come in April. So if you can find a sports book to take a bet on this happening again next year, let us know how you’ll be spending the windfall.
