The New England Patriots’ Super Bowl Rings Are Outrageous

Before Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft partied last night, they received their Super Bowl rings.

They are flashy as hell.

Super Bowl rings aren’t exactly known to be modest pieces. But of the four times that Robert Kraft has gifted jewelry to Patriots players and coaches, never has he handed out anything this big.

At his home in Chestnut Hill on Sunday night, the Patriots chairman and CEO hosted a ring ceremony to commemorate the team’s Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seahawks, and the rings were presented as the “dessert” course following a cocktail reception and dinner. According to the team, they were the largest Super Bowl rings ever made, featuring a whopping 205 diamonds. In 2003 and 2004, when the Patriots won back-to-back Super Bowls, the championship rings had 104 and 124 diamonds, respectively.

This is one of those rare cases where a man can wear something like this and not being overcompensating for something else.

More of a visual learner?

I can’t wait to see what the baubles for championship teams will look like in 10 years. If we keep going down this road, they’ll weigh 20 pounds and be roughly the size of a softball.
